Staying regulated during global turmoil
when it’s ok to detach
Point of view: you’re in a beautiful place in your life.
Surrounded by loved ones, natural beauty, a gorgeous skyscape, whatever it is. You look around and are in awe of all your life is.
The community you built.
The career you value.
The scent of fresh air.
You take a deep breath and feel blessed.
But at the bottom of your exhale, you remember. Remember the state of the world, the war, global politics… And you begin to unravel.
Thoughts like:
why should I feel happy when so many are suffering?
Am I deserving of internal peace?
start to flood your mind. Guilt starts to creep in and take over.
As a global collective, we are dysregulated. Our nervous systems are on high alert. Fight, flight, or freeze. In times of global turmoil, it might be difficult to separate individual experiences from the suffering of the world.
Humans are empathetic beings. We take on the emotions and pain of others.
These sufferings, even if not our own, can feel heavy in our own bodies. However, the weight of the world is not for us to take on alone.
To be grateful for all the good in our lives allows us to emit a high frequency that can also be picked up on by others.
So by leaning into moments of positivity in our own lives, we are spreading a lighter energy to those around us, which in turn creates a broader butterfly effect.
Embodying the frequency of anger and fear will only spread more anger and fear.
Peace starts from within.
Give yourself permission to detach from the pain and suffering of the world and allow your inner happiness to spread like a wildfire.
